Writing in this journal is going to help me...
As I write in this journal I want to feel...
The first page of a fresh new blank journal holds a special kind of power. There is magic in those first words you write in there. A chance to set an intention for what you want that journal to help you to do.
Setting an intention for your new notebook:
Read through this list of values below, slowly considering each one and write down in your journal the ones that call to you.
Let your gut choose the words, not your head. Feel how your body and heart respond to each value. Choose the ones that call to you.
You’re looking for values that either feel like an intrinsic part of who you are and how you show up in the world (for me that is fun and play) and what is deeply important to you and feeds your soul (for me it is deep connection, love for others).
Don’t go for values because they sound impressive or worthwhile. Don’t go for values because you feel you are lacking that in your life.
Choose values that come easily to you.
And of course you can choose values that aren't on the list.
Let's give it a go.
Get clear on what your core values are so that they can become your GPS as you design a life you love
Values to live by
When you are clear on your core values and what is really REALLY important to you in life, it becomes like an internal GPS, guiding your choices, your actions and the way you live and work.
It reinforces for yourself who you are and what you’re about and keeps you focused on the things that matter most to you...for life.
So if you’re ready, let’s find out what your values are…

Now read through the values that you've written out and circle the ones that you are most drawn to.
Next, write out the values that you circled. The aim is to have between three and six values. So go through the list again and choose your top TOP values.
If you have more than six then group together values that have a similar feeling to them eg fun, excitement, adventure and see if there is one word out of the group that really stands out or that could be an umbrella word to capture the feeling of all three eg ‘fun’
Now that you have your values, let’s look at how you can use them to shape your life…
Take each of your values, one by one, and for each of them answer the following:
1. What that value means to you
2. Why it's so important to you
3. The activities and experiences that help to cultivate that value in your life.
Living a life you love grows from daring to dream and turning those dreams into reality, one project at a time.
Planning your project
Is there a dream or idea you’ve had that you feel ready and excited to bring to life?
Is there an area of your life where you know it’s time for change or transformation?
E.g. Career or Love life?
Do you long to feel a certain way - eg calm, energised, happy or at peace - and want to focus on cultivating feeling that way in your day to day?
Is there a creative project you want to focus on?
Is there an adventure or challenge you want to embark on?
Is there something you want to dedicate yourself to learning?
Is there a new habit you want to form that will have you weaving in an important ingredient into your life?
Is there a healing journey you feel ready to go on?
Is there a project you want to do that will make a difference to your local community or people or animals in need?
